Things fell into place for my writing when I chose to reshuffle the letters of 'Scared' to become 'Sacred'. My creating time and space is something sacred and my routine meets me where I am in my current stage of life.

Many recommend working from an uncluttered desk. That's not me, but I definitely know where everything is at all times.
I prefer to write in the mornings, when the house is mostly quiet. I work up until lunchtime when I take a break to fetch my boys from school. Driving is dreaming, conceptualising or figuring-out time.
I work under the strict supervision of four Brussels Griffons. They snore, and insist on sleeping on my lap, at my feet and against my back on my chair. It is uncomfortable and incredibly difficult to move, but one of my dreams as a child was to be followed by a pack of dogs everywhere.... Yes, they do that too.
Creativity is a wild mind and a disciplined eye.
